Countless folks from the Lone Star State came to the aid of Central Florida residents in the wake of the multiple ravaging — and nerve-wracking — hurricanes of 2004. (Do you remember Charley, Jeanne and Frances — and another called Ivan?) Most of these fine Texans — joining Americans from all over — donated to charitable relief agencies, but some traveled hundreds of miles from their homes to be boots on the ground for Central Florida disaster recovery and utility repairs. THE MANAGERS at Tucker Paving are big believers in recycling — the whole “Three R’s” philosophy of waste management and basic conservation: Reduce, reuse, and recycle. Like folks at home, they understand that even businesses — perhaps especially businesses, because of their size — can help to cut down on the tremendous amount of waste produced in this country and then, most often, just thrown away to add to the heaps in the local landfills. SAFETY IS AN A-NO. 1 PRIORITY at Tucker Paving, and we have solid achievements to show for it — like more than 1 million man hours without a single loss-time injury by any of our employees. (If you missed it, a nice newspaper article about this can be found here.)
